The night of the 18 November took place at the Auditorio Axa from Barcelona the gala for the XXIII National Awards of Professional Photography LUX 2015, where I was honored to receive the prestigious Silver LUX in Fashion and beauty.
Many thanks to the jury for rewarding my series “Lighting Clothes“, to the Organization from the Lux Awards and the AFPE for their kindness and excellent organization. Congratulations also to my colleagues and fellows awarded for the high quality of their work.
The Lux Awards, as stated the organization press release, was created by the Spain Professional Photographers Association in 1993, and throughout the years it has managed to position itself as the regarding professional photography in Spain to recognize the best photographic works.
Since 2004 it has been released the Lux Book showing the award-winning photographic works and at the same time showing the emerging talent. They are made up with 11 categories: publicidad, fashion and beauty, still life, industrial, architecture and interior design, portrait, documentary feature, landscape and nature, personal project, social report and Junior. Values such as innovation, the adaptation, contribution to an idea or concept, the strength and the capacity of communication of the work have been the common elements that the jury took into account when choosing the finalists.
In this edition of 2015, the jury met in the cities of Barcelona and Madrid, and they wanted to highlight the quality and the excellence of the whole of the works presented. In the case of Barcelona, its President Pepe Baeza, graphic editor, highlights "the debate so rewarding that it occurred in the jury as competent professionals and with very clear ideas share different points of view. As well as, the level of the proposals that has been so high and as wide diversity that has helped enrich the selection of the winners."
In Madrid, the President of the jury Albert Anaut, President of Photoespaña and La Fabrica says "the level is very high. The photographic quality of the presented in this country is very competitive and can be compared to other countries. A balance varied with different styles and with a high technical quality".
The jury members from Barcelona have been formed by: Samuel Aranda, photographer; Xavi racing, photographer and co-founder of Haut Touch Retouching Studio; Francesc Fabregas, photographer; Pepe Font de Mora, Director of the Fundació Foto Colectania; Jessica Murray, Director of Al - liquindoi Workshops and chronic 21; Dani Paez, Creative advertising and inventor in Aquihouston.com; José Miguel Tortajada, Creative advertising and Friedel Sholoten, photographer.
In Madrid, members of the jury have been: Agnes Bonet, stylist; Julian Dueñas, Director of the magazine world GEO; Ramón Fano, Magazine fashion editor NEO2; Juan Jiménez, JJF architect architects; Silvia Paredes, photographer; Gonzalo doors, photographer; Ignacio Yúfera, photographer e Ismael Villar, Retoucher.
The photographic works of the winners of the Lux Prize 2015 will be seen in the exhibition that will take place in Barcelona, Bilbao, Granada and Langreo among other cities, in a circuit traveling that will tour Spain. These works are also included in the Lux Book 2015 edited by the Association.
